Bill 212 – Multi-use paths versus On-Road Bike Lanes

Brampton roads have been significantly overbuilt leading to speeding, aggressive driving, high building and maintenance cost due to the width of the roadway, stormwater management issues, and injuries and deaths among drivers, as well as vulnerable road users. The key strategy of Brampton’s Active Transportation Master Plan, which was passed unanimously in 2019, was toContinue reading “Bill 212 – Multi-use paths versus On-Road Bike Lanes”

Question: Have Bike Trough Installers Ever seen a 3D Bike?

Today, I went back to the new section of the Etobicoke Creek Trail south of Eglinton to check out how one exits at Eglinton, which could be very useful for a multi-modal trip as the trail at that point is about half way between two Mississauga Transitway stations. Rather than riding there from my homeContinue reading “Question: Have Bike Trough Installers Ever seen a 3D Bike?”

Etobicoke Creek Trail: Mid-Way/Dixie to Lake Ontario

It was a hot, humid day, but some sections of theContinue reading “Etobicoke Creek Trail: Mid-Way/Dixie to Lake Ontario”

Beating Fitbit at the Planned Obsolescence Game

About three years ago we bought a Fitbit Aria scale for $170 Canadian plus tax.  We had a scale that we had had for many years, and that still worked, but the allure of a scale that not only measured mass, but also calculated body fat percentage and BMI, and sent it to your FitbitContinue reading “Beating Fitbit at the Planned Obsolescence Game”
